The son of Amergin is Saint Finbarr and Saint Finbarre's Cathedral is located in Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

In charge once was he who made Ellen his spouse.
James Thomas O'Brien a former Deans of Corks married his wife Ellen in 1836.

Study where he studied, and read in the year,
O'Brien studied at Trinity College, Dublin which has a room called the 1937 Reading Room.

Now backwards in time fifty five years from here.
Fifty five years back from 1937 takes you to 1882.

Twas then MJM did give birth to the one,
James Joyce was born in 1882, his mothers name was Mary Jane Murray.

Who sits in a green where four streets round do run.
There is a bust of James Joyce in St. Stephen's Green, Dublin. There green is surrounded by four bordering streets called respectively, St Stephen's Green North, St Stephen's Green South, St Stephen's Green East and St Stephen's Green West.

Which Lord to the public this area did give?
It was at the initiative of Lord Ardilaun that local residents were granted access to St. Stephen's Green in 1877.
